I have taken up Judi Granit's idea, and asked David if he would put the test
up on the site. He has very kindly said he would do so. With any luck, you
will all be able to get it off the site. Should there be any problem, I
will fax it to anybody who needs it.
A couple of words on the test. As you will see, it is mainly aimed at weak
learners, to find out exactly where they are. These kids usually take one
look at a test, and walk out. In order to avoid this, try to encourage them
to get started. If they can read at all, they will be pleased to find that
they can do quite a lot, and this is very encouraging for them.
There are 2 first pages, so that the exam looks different, and you can tell
them that they are two separate exams.
The last pages are vocabulary and grammar. I think I stole them from
somewhere, but it was a long time ago, and I don't know who to give credit
to. Also the page about the Safari Park
Good luck, all of you who are going back to teach in schools. I'm afraid
I've chickened out of the school system, and apart from my private practice,
I am teaching in jail this year.
