----- Original Message ----- From: Barry Silverberg - barisil@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Whither My ETAI? Hi folks. Happy Spring Draught to you all. Like many of you, I just received my ETAI speaker forms in the mail for spring and summer. Maybe I'm just depressed, but I feel that I have nothing to contribute. After all, I am not running any new methods or breaking ground (or gound: look it up) with research. Not that every ETAI presentation re invents fire, but many of them are inspiring, whereas it's all i do just to keem my classes on keel. The presentations that I made were usually well received, at least the Jerusalem ones. Even though each one was shown to a room of 20 - 80 people, i.e. hundreds of people missed each presentation, I feel that I don't want to re do the same things for new people. And I don't have anything new; I have a horror myself of sitting in on boring, redundant presentations, having been to a few doozies lately. So, Here is of the presentations I have on hand: I'm letting you guys out there vote whether you want to attend one of these presentations. I assume that most of my audience comes from the ETNI community anyway. So please get off your lurkmobiles and respond. If you don't, you save me the trouble of filing out the form. __ Using songs to teach English from my prepared CD's . ( It's all on ETNI anyway and the songs can be googled, so what do you need me for?) __ Following instructions in English to make fancy paper airplanes. __ "Eclectic Lesson Plans" Interesting ideas and plans linked associatively around a theme; Mostly stuff I did with my Mehunanim kids. __ Barry reads from his humorous parodies and articles, __ Barry makes fun of the Literature program __ Barry Shows links to funny stuff that maybe you haven't heard of yet. __ Making your lessons more fun __ Workshop: how to cut and paste to make the Magic Stick Game that 'Zigzag" used to sell; now that they don't sell it we can make our own. __ Getting the most out of Key to REading to advance the dyslectic, the borderline retarded, and men in blue uniforms. Friends: If you believe in Barries and clap your hands and show some support for these, I'll send in the proposal. I just don't feel anymore that someone coming to ETAI and wants every session to count will get a lot out of this. If you feel we could use one of these topics to have a good time for 90 minutes, let me know. / Accia Barry Silverberg ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
