I recently wrote to Etni to enquire about a program, which
would enable me to prepare interactive materials for my
classes. So firstly thanks to all who replied and suggested
hotpotatoes. Then my problem was that I wanted to upload
the exercises that I had prepared onto the Internet.
Hot potatoes enables this, however, the address of the site
where the exercises can be found is too long.
My problem was solved when I used a new, free program
called esnips. This is a program which enables the user to
download material ( files and photographs) onto his\her
personal place on the web. It also has the possibility of
opening up a public folder, which supplies the user with a
web address. The user can then upload any files into
this public folder, which has a web address, chosen by the
user. So now I have my site and anyone can visit it. It is
really only in the very initial stages as I have been playing
around. However, I will be able to open up different
public folders for different classes.
One of the main reasons why I so wanted to create the
exercises and have them on the net, was that I am teaching
a very special 8th grade class. The level of the pupils is not
high and they function best in front of a computer.
