After reading all the mail, I have a suggestion. It won't be well received.
By all means let the students be ppunished. Write letters to every parent
who is 'punished' this way, explaining the situation clearly and succinctly.
(Nina, can I volunteer you as a writer?).
When parents get this letter, and the bagrut result, showing the oral grade,
just WATCH HOW FAST THE MEDIA GETS INVOLVED!!
Don't like it? Feel that it is unfair to your students? Don't worry; the
marks will be adjusted, and future students and teachers will reap the
benefit.
