Subject: books and dictionaries

Hello all,

I have mentioned before a fantastic book for 4 pointers (cde), called Impact, which comes, I have just discovered, with 2 practice books. It is put out by UPP. I was wondering if it has a companion book for abc. There is a book called abc, which is also good, but it is more of a testing book than a teaching book.

The other type of book I am looking for is something for adult beginners who can read, but have practically no vocabulary. there are many students out there who are studying at the university, open U or colleges, whose English isn't up to the lowest level theystart at 9n these places, and such books are desperately needed (Linda Taharlev , can you hear me!). does anybody know of an existing book that is available in country and which can be used for this sort of teaching?

The last thing is electronic dictionaries. I had no takers on my last posting and haven't had time to check it out myself, but there is an electronic dictionary which is more or less a copy of the Oxford we use. I can't remember its name.

Grateful for any help.

Jennifer
