Dear Friends and coordinators,
Well the first day of school is right around the corner (barring a strike
!!!) and I'm sure all of you are extremely busy with class lists, schedules,
meetings and whatnot..
Our third chat was on August 22nd with only a few participants (which is ok
with me) . I will continue setting a date and time although again I remind
you all that you are welcome to check out the chat room at any time. We can
have more than one 'chat' during the week perhaps at different times. For
some people after 9 is good when young kids are on their way to bed and
computers are more available !! However others seem to prefer earlier in
the evening.
So in an attempt to cater to as many coordinators as possible I think it
would be a good idea to set up two more or less permenant days and times.
Let's try for Sundays at 9 p.m. (next Suncday is August 28th) and maybe
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. (Tuesday is the 30th) .
As for topics: It seems that even though we start with one we go off on a
tangent and end up discussing other things. In my opinion this is good as
it shows what is bothering us at the time.
Again the idea of the chats (and the forum-- stop by once in awhile and add
your two cents ) is to be able to exchange ideas and learn from one
another. I am at present thinking how we could arrange regional meetings
around Succot vacation time. There are teachers who have volunteered their
schools. (including me , up North on the shores of the Kinneret).
So I welcome any and all input, ideas etc..
Wishing you and all English teachers a quiet and pleasant beginning of the
school year.
