I don't really have time to write much right now, but I do want to say that
no union is stronger than its rank and file. The irgun alone can't achieve
anything without our cooperation. Also, keep in mind that the Irgun is
fighting with one hand behind its back, since the Histadrut is not
addressing the issues. (Histadrut members - turn to YOUR union! Get them to
get involved!) And the Irgun is involved in a few other "minor" issues at
this time - like trying to keep MOE from forcing all the junior high
teachers, including those who are members of Irgun haMorim, into Ofek
Chadash, and getting MOE to carry out the agreements that were made after
the strike.
In the meantime, I'm disappointed to see that only 115 people have
participated in the HOTs poll! Please - EVERYONE - vote, and get your
colleagues to vote. Spread the word. There are two questions - one relating
to hours and the other relating to HOTs. We should see a few thousand
teachers voting - not a few score. A reminder of the link.
