Hi Everyone,
This is an interesting subject and could be an interesting poll, too.
I'm not a big fan of these school grades for all the reasons mentioned so
far. As I recall, in Yonkers, N.Y. we had no such animal! We did have an
internal school grade and our Regents Exam grade but these were separate and
did not affect each other in calculating a final grade. Why not do the same
here?
This does, however, jilt the project and extensive reading from the Bagrut
grade. There will soon be a literature module and that's "covered".
Extensive reading, as in Hebrew , could be included in an exam...not exactly
my cup of tea, I admit. The project? Alternatively, these could both remain
compulsory but not be a part of the Bagrut grade itself.
And even if we all agree on the way to go, will anyone really listen to us?
