I would also like to see the exact details of the job description and salary offered as facts are obviously not exact as we have them. I agree with Bari that much of our success as teachers comes from on-the-job experience. However, why should these starting teachers start out with more than those who just finished their professional studies? How do we know that they aren't just biding time and won't bolt when hi-tech reboots and comes back? Will their "dedication" to their new jobs hold up or will they pay their "fines" and head back to their computers? And what does the union have to say about this? Will the Ministry be signing on these new recruits with personal contracts? How do they plan on by-passing the present salary tables? And will today's present teachers, coordinators and counselors be asked to provide guidance for the newcomers on their measly salaries? Yes, the Ministry has to deal with the lack of teachers but let them deal with it properly and better our salaries and working conditions first. Then, perhaps, more of us will stay around.
