No, you SHOULD NOT do it! Who knows WHEN the Irgun and the Ministry will
come to an agreement ! There is NO RUSH - you can do the Hishtalmut next
year or the year after. Do you really think the Ministry will not let
teachers teach for Bagrut if they haven't done the course - can you see
thousands of Yod Bet students not finishing their English Bagrut because of
this - do you really believe the parents would let that happen!!!???
By NOT doing the Hishtalmut, first you are doing what the Irgun has decided
and secondly it puts more pressure on the Ministry to come to an agreement
and make changes and set reasonable payment for all the extra work we will
be doing and HAVE BEEN DOING since the New Bagrut started in 2004 and
projects came into being.
YES - we deserve to be paid for every little bit of extra work including
making tapes, CDs or whatever - it is time someone in the Ministry realized
that they cannot keep piling more changes on the English teachers - I
believe that HOTS is the straw which has broken the camel's back - and about
time too.
