Dear All
As Ora pointed out, Jade and the Books for Israel project have done a
lot for a lot of us. I'm taking the liberty of translating and posting
part of an email that Ilan, Jade's husband, sent to me. If we really
want to show our appreciation, this is what we should be doing. (That
doesn't mean to say that I disagree with Ora's suggestion, I'm just
adding to it!).
Last week Ilan wrote "I am sorry to see that the books for Israel
project is not mentioned on the ETNI site. Even though the project has
closed, books are still coming to Israel. It's a pity that no
recognition is given to the project by English teachers or in other
sites connected to English teaching. I think that the project should be
mentioned at the upcoming ETAI conference and Jade should be mentioned
as the initiator of the project and as a person who has given so much to
Israeli society and to English education within this society."
The gauntlet has been thrown - who's going to pick it up?
Amanda
PS If there are any elementary school teachers out there who want books,
I have loads! I could even bring them to ETAI if you want. Just let me
know....

Jade has done so much for so many of us. Our library is full of books from Books for Israel.
I thought of collecting money for Jade at the ETAI convention.
What do you think?
