Subject: RE: Summer Module A listening - don't complain!
I spent a few minutes speaking to Judy Steiner at last summer's ETAI
conference.
The change in A is for the benefit of the students because there were MANY
teachers (including me) who have complained that dealing with 2 unseens and
2 listenings is too much for this level. There is NO difference in the
question types so students can get the practice they need from the available
practice books.
Teachers should not be complaining about a change that should benefit the
students!

Personally I don't understand why the "Powers to Be" are allowed
to change structures, guidelines, the way points are given, etc, etc, etc after the school year has started(Sept 1) , after students have already purchased books.
Our students need to have all their supplies by Sept. 1 even if
they are only doing Bagrut in the summer... PArents complain .. rightly so.. about expensive English books....and now many of those books do not even provide the exact exercises...and don't tell me the pracatice papers aren't that expensive..... what about the text books that are meant to help our students achieve their Bagrut goals.....
( as far as the guidelines and way points are distributed not
even a program can help you distinguish the players... ) but I digress. HOw could any book company keep up.. considering all the stops a book has to make in order to satisfy the Ministry...
Wouldn't it make one wonder if such a thing was on the
market immediately after such a drastic change was made???
