I liked Going Places (an old book) for the level above Chance, but I'm not
sure it's available-new in the stores. Its units are different places in
Israel, including short history texts. There's a new book (I think it's
called:) Moving On - Eric Cohen for b-stream/8th grade - with very nice
speaking/writing tasks... For beginners, there's a misrad avodah book by Rita
Dick "Ready to Read" which gives phonic and spelling rules + short
dialogues/texts.
