Amen to every word you wrote, Judy! I am upset, additionally,
by what I feel is too large a difference in the level of difficulty
of the same module from season to season. My E pupils
got much better grades on the bagrut exam than on their
matkonot, since in my opinion, this winter's E was the easiest
in my memory. So, add together non-participation in outside
reading; missing classes plus low grades on old bagrut
exams (for matkonot) and you get a recipe for a horrific
discrepency between the magen and the test results.
And, as you said, WE (who put in so, SO many hours,
on the whole unappreciated by most pupils and principals)
come off as the "bad guys."
**sigh** Who said life was easy, or fair?
