That's the way the world bounces. Even if one in 20 laid off techie becomes a viable English teacher, that's still 100 new teachers. And for the baintaim, most of them will prefer to stay at home, collect unemployment, collect bottles and cans rather than come teach, unless somebody wafts a large financial increment under their high tech noses. That's the way the cookie is accepted. What if in a few years, hitech renders our jobs obsolete. Do you think they will try to hire us to design systems or whatever they do at an above hi tech salary? That's the way the computer crashes. > I would like to add some comments re the salary of NIS 9000 as a starting > salary for unemployed hi-tech people. > to start at the salary of a 20 year teacher. > Also, one must ask -- will they accrue benefits (pension, vacations) or > is it per diem (per day for hours taught) only? > AND -- > Eleano ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
