Fortunately, some information about the program has finally been posted on the English Ministry site, and what I wrote is based on that information. I have no intention of "crossing the picket line" and ignoring my union's NOT to participate in the training courses for the new Bagrut until the pay issues are settled. Thus, there is no connection between wanting to know about the program and taking the course. (By the way, lashon and ezrachut teachers are being PAID just for learning their new program!) I don't think there is anything in the material posted on the site that I don't understand. We are all familiar with HOTS from our work with reading comprehension. And I'm certainly very familiar with the literature pieces. Nothing in my letter criticized the idea of a literature bagrut. It criticized the selection of pieces for the core program, and the idea of including questions that ask students to state explicitly which HOTS they used to answer a question, and why. In fact, this posting was a classic example of putting my energy into improving the new program. ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
