If you go through a red light or a stop sign, you will probably get a ticket. Use this as an explanation as to why a classroom needs rules. It is to make sure that everyone isn't speeding at the same time through traffic lights. It would be a chaotic world, and it would be a chaotic classroom. Involve the class in setting the rules. Ask them to tell you rules needed in the classroom. Write them down. Vote on the top five and keep them posted. The more the class is invested, the more likely they are to follow the rules. Many know how to express love with a caring look, a hug, words like "I love you." Emotions children need to learn how to express are anger, fear, and sadness. They need to understand that these are normal emotions. Teach them to use their words to express these feelings. Have a great day and a great week.
