Subject: An appeal to English Speakers

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE ISRAELI CULTURE
English speakers have been given a unique opportunity - Beit Lessin
agreed that one of it award winning plays could be translated into
English and performed in Tel Aviv. This is really a first to allow
people who are not fluent enough in Hebrew to participate in the
Hebrew theatrical culture.

The play Mikveh, which was selected as Best Play by the Israel Academy
Awards, is being directed by the author, Hadar Galron. Hadar was born
into an orthodox family in London but came on aliyah when she was 13.
She has a BA in Theater from Tel Aviv University and is one of the few
very accomplished orthodox multi-talented performers in Israel today.

Mikveh is not a play about politics or religion despite its name. It
is about a group of women who happen to all frequent the same place
and that place is their local Mikveh. The play has some serious
themes, but it is also funny and really exposes slices of life all of
us can relate to....

The play is being produced by the Tel Aviv Community Theater at Yad
Labanim, 63 Pinkas Street, Tel Aviv. The opening night is Tuesday,12
October and there will performances on Wed (13 Oct), Thurs (14 Oct),
Sat (16 Oct ), Sun (17 Oct), Mon (18 Oct), and Tues (19 Oct). All
performances begin at 8:30 and are 2 hours including intermission.

The play features veteran TACT players, Dawn Nadel, Glenda Feldberg,
Sue Field, and Frances Thaler plus newcomers, Haddas Bitton, Lisa Law,
Tamar Gutman and Shoshi Har Kochav.

Unfortunately, due to administrative errors, there has been no
publicity about this wonderful opportunity. We, the cast and crew have
been working hard and would hate to cancel all performance SO we are
appealing to everyone. Please spread the word. Please call the numbers
below and buy tickets. Please forward this mail to as many of your
friends as possible.

This is a really great play and if it does not succeed, it will be
more than difficult to bring other Hebrew plays to English speakers.

Call Yad Labanim box office to order tickets in advance. The box
office at 03-607-1707 or 03-546-7404 The box office is open 9am -3pm
Sunday through Thursday. Tickets are 60nis. Groups of 20 and TACT
members can purchase discounted tickets for 40nis in advance only.

NOTE: If there are enough people interested, I will arrange a bus from
Raanana for the Wed performance . Please send an email
toMikvehbus@xxxxxxxxx with your name, home phone and mobile number. If
there are enough requests, we can arrange the transportation (there
will be a charge)
I thank you all in advance for your support.
