Hi Everyone, Although this op-ed relates to social studies, I'm flabbergasted and can't disconnect our project work from what is written here. We have been teaching, or trying to teach our pupils, not to just copy text off the Internet but process it, write a summary and paraphrase. Of course, quotes, with proper credit to the authors is allowed too. But here, copy and paste and listing the source is being encouraged in order to get 100%. True that's not plagiarism but where is the creative thinking and thinking process here? Have I missed anything? http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/opinion/go-copy-1.392892 Or maybe this is "trick or treat" for Halloween. You copy and paste and I give you a great grade?! Laurie
