---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Renee Wahl <renew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Descriptive composition Hi, For those who asked about material about teaching how to write a descriptive composition: 1) Avraham Roos has a wonderful unit on this, with examples and exercises. I think it must be on the ETNI website. 2) I teach the poem "IF" by Rudyard Kipling which has excellent character descriptors and lines to quote in a composition describing a person (very impressive to find one and not bad as a permanent memory of English lessons) 3) I remember once seeing in one of our textbooks, a text entitled "My Uncle Dave" which is a rather long description that can serve as a model. In addition to the text, there is an activity which contains dozens of descriptive adjectives . Perhaps others on this list know where this text can be found.
