Subject: Diagnostician for learning disabilities.

Dear Ever Helpful List,

In September I posted a request for an expert in adult ADD, ADHD, and
learning disabilities.  I was given the name of Ori Shwartzman, for
which I am ever grateful. He has certainly lived up to the title of
‘best in Israel.

Now I am looking for someone equally good as a diagnostician for
children and teenagers.  Ori is a psychiatrist, but, unless the
student is in need of medication, I don’t suppose this is necessary.

Fairly often, I came across students in need of diagnoses.  I hesitate
to say anything to the parents, because I know how many unreliable
people and organizations there are, out there, who take the parents’
money, give the student extra time on exams,  no marks off for
spelling mistakes and sometimes having the exam read.  Frequently,
none of these accommodations have anything to do with the student’s
needs, but certainly succeed in screwing up schedules at school, with
no advantages to anyone.

So... is there somebody reliable out there?
