Subject: Grammar book

You know those “native English speakers”, whose English is pretty
good, to excellent. Either they spent time abroad quite a long time
ago, or they speak English at home, or both. However, with the
passage of time, some things have been forgotten, like some of the
irregular past tenses; (brang is the one I meet most frequently).
Past tense is relatively easy to deal with, except when they have been
saying “I didn’t went” for so many years that it is hard to break the
habit. On the other hand, more advanced structures, like the perfects,
temporals and so on need work. This leads me to my query.

What grammar book would you recommend for these students? I’m sure
some of you will say “none”, but I have found that students find
exercises quite eye-opening. I have looked for books used abroad, but
haven't found anything really satisfactory, so far.
