Subject: MiC - Day 2, ORT Abu Tlul - ORT Sapir Yeruham
Just home, both tired and energized by the dynamics of the MiC program
we just finished. ORT Yeruham MiC participants and faculty warmly
hosted ORT Abu Tlul for the 2nd day of the workshop.
We reconnected this morning in our MiC circle and warmed up singing
"I've Got Peace Like a River", a traditional American folk song. We
then went on to rehearse the pupils' own newly penned song which was
recorded at the end of the day. Small integrated groups also created
beautifully designed posters based on the lyrics of their song.
Finally, the pupils documented on video their thoughts and feelings,
and how much they'd grown in the course of the 2 days.
All the participants and their teachers are keen to continue exploring
their shared identities. As they learned and wrote in their lyrics, "
We are similar in our differences".
We've all learned a lot from each other. I'm grateful to all who
helped make this experience possible.
Looking ahead, tomorrow Todd Mack, Sahar Dobel and I travel north to
facilitate a workshop at
ORT Sharett, Nazareth Illit and Deir Hanna High School. Keep posted!
