Subject: MiC - ORT Sharett, Nazareth Illit-Deir Hanna High School - wrap up
Hi All,
Still on the road with Todd Mack from Music in Common. It was a
beautiful drive this morning to Deir Hanna from our home away from
home in the north. The pupils were waiting our arrival at the school
gate, eager to pick up where we left off yesterday afternoon.
After a short tour of the school to give everyone a feeling of
belonging, we turned the classroom into a recording studio, rehearsed
and recorded their original song, "One Love, One Heart". It will
surely make the playlist of the MiC hit parade. This was followed by a
great local lunch which was much appreciated by the hungry bunch of
teens (and facilitators). The afternoon was devoted to in-depth
interviews; the pupils came up with the interview questions which were
also videoed.
The program ended on a very encouraging note. The kids had a hard time
parting but their dedicated teachers, Khuloud and Neta, are commited
to a follow-up program before the end of the school year.
Tomorrow MiC heads to Jerusalem for Shabbat and then on to the last
workshop with Hebrew U. High School and Branco Weiss Ein Rafa School.
