Subject: MiC on the road - ORT Abu Tlul-ORT Sapir, Yeruham

Music in Common (MiC) is on the road, its second week in the Negev.
Today ORT Abu Tlul hosted ORT Sapir and the hospitality will be
reciprocated tomorrow when we all meet in Yeruham to continue the
program. It was wonderful to see how, through dialogue and team work,
fun and song, the prejudices were washed away.

We've written the lyrics to our song which will next be set to music
and recorded. Their chorus is, "The other is me and I am the other",
sung also in Arabic and Hebrew.

Tomorrow we'll also focus on the multimedia aspect of the program
which will culminate in a documentary film of all the 2014 MiC Israel
programs.

I'm really proud of the pupils and feel honored to work with them. Of
course, the MiC facilitators are fantastic, too. Todd Mack, MiC's
Executive Director, flew in on Fri. from the snowy Berkshire Mts. and
is with us for the remainder of the tour. Tamar Capsuto,
singer-songwriter-artist and Sahar Dobel, a multimedia student from
Sapir College in Sderot, complete our MiC team.

And a huge round of applause goes to the 3 Kaye Academic College of
Education MiC students, Eman, Dikriat and Maha, who co-facilitated
with us as part of their student teaching.

Stay posted!
Laurie
