Greetings.
My name is Chaim and I am a US citizen living and working in Israel
for almost 20 years. I am currently interested in approaching various
US foundations and organizations in order to explore the possibilities
of increasing the level of English in Israel through various national
initiatives.
I was hoping that you have or can direct me to information regarding
the level of English in Israel schools and in the Israeli workforce in
comparison to other countries in Europe, Scandinavia and other
locales. Such questions that I need to address are:
How does the level of Israeli English compare with that in other countries?
How does the level of English in Israel affect it's ability to compete
in the worldwide workplace?
At what age is English introduced in the various Israeli school systems?
Are there any governmental or private initiatives designed to improve
the level of English in Israel?
