Know any great teachers?
SailFuture is searching for a dynamic teacher to lead a sailing-based high
school for youthful offenders in the child welfare and juvenile justice
system. The high-school is rooted in a service-learning model, where all
teaching modules for traditional high school classes (algebra, American
history, biology) are tied to meaningful service projects with partners
throughout the state of Florida.
The position requires a 2-year commitment and in addition to teaching, this
individual will live on the boat and in the house with the (6) youth in the
program. The high-school is fully accredited by the Hillsborough County
School Board through our partnership with Eckerd Youth Alternatives.
The position requires a strong curriculum development background and a
desire to teach in a non-traditional setting. Prior classroom teaching
experience is preferred, but can be substituted with relatable
teaching experience in other settings.
