Subject: for Marlene- projects
Projects was NOT a part of our ( the English teachers ) complaint
about HOTS. However, the Irgun found out ( during the strike ) that we
were doing projects at no extra pay and "they forbid" doing projects.
The problem is -- and we should use it as an example -- teachers are
afraid NOT to do projects because other teachers who are testers --
even among Irgun members -- see their oral testing status as
sancrosanct and advised teachers that they were going to test projects
as part of the oral bagrut. So everyone caved in .
This same situation can happen if teachers start doing the HOTS -- in
2 years it will be a
"fait accompli" and we will be doing not only projects for free ( and
Civics and biology get paid in pensionable HOURS for projects ) but
we will have the new bagrut log which we are against primarily for
pedagogic reasons
-- so those of you who are against the New Literature Bagrut as it
is --DON'T IMPLEMENT IT!
