Yael,
I'm 40 years in the country (this month), with translation skills, but
my American accent is totally noticeable after I say two words in
Hebrew.
But I'm an English teacher, not my country's representative abroad.
Even Moshe Rabeinu got his brother Aaron to do the heavy speaking -
when proper elocution was called for.
