---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Lauren Ornstein <laurenmadeline@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: recycled! Hi Everyone, On the lighter side of things here, I just want to let y'all know that I just shlepped 3 shopping cart loads of dated/outdated textbooks to the recycling bin. Waxed a bit nostalgic looking at some favorites but dumped them nonetheless. (And this is after a pr-weeding out of cartons of books and loathed practice books which I carted off last spring!) So, in case you're interested in what I kept... I kept the coursebooks in use in my schools at present, which with the new program in the wings, I'll probably end up recycling soon. I kept all my literature books, including those old ESH ones! And.... "High School Grammar" by Ronald Green - Ron, how could I trash that one? It IS a great resource even if I'm not a fan of grammar books. "A Passport to Cyberspace - English@Work by David Lloyd. - After all, where would be today without ETNI, David's insightful dream child? And more personally, David quoted my daughter in the book. On "keypals", (page15) - For instance, I know that students in Middle Eastern countries often complain to their teachers that "they think we live in tents and ride to school on camels." (Both my daughters were privileged to learn English with David.) "Discussions that Work" by Penny Ur - Not a textbook but a classic which I still refer to from time to time. 3 cheers to Penny! Cheers to y'all!
