I will also be teaching with Get Together and have been working on my teaching plan for the past 2 weeks (almost finished) Some nice ideas are on the teacher's guide, but there's a Tests CD- order it from ECB. I always adapt the tests as we move forward so as to approach my specific classroom needs. I have added some nice activities To enhance vocab and/ or to enrich in back ground information And even learned something my self (Did you know that Listerine mouthwash is named after Joseph Lister, the man who discovered it? I added grammar wokrpages, graphic organizers and added/ adapted the writing tasks I plan to give them a "write a note task" on facebook, for that I have opened a profile that has nothing to do with my private profile. It will be the first time I'll do that with weak pupils so I have built a task to approach my target class. Bingo game is always fun to sum up a unit's vocab You can send me an email as you progress with the units and we can share ideas! * One last thing- I always add songs to my lessons The teacher's guide has excellent recommendations for songs with well known performers so I also ass the lyrics and prepare the song as an MP file on a CD. All together, it seems like a nice text book, with relevant teens issues Hagit Lahav School of Arts ------------------------------ From: ETNI list <etni.list@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 24 Jul 2011 22:07:38 +0200 Subject: [etni] Fwd: Get Together and Mind Matters ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Debbie Mishol <debbie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Get Together and Mind Matters Hello, I was wondering if you can help me with materials (quizzes, tests, worksheets of any kind ) for two books that I'll be using for the first time this year. I will be glad to share materials of my own that might be some help to you too. The two books are GET TOGETHER and MIND MATTERS. Thanks, Debbie
