1) Regarding the list of six HOTS - supposedly the list should be up on the Ministry site any day. 2) Teachers who want to do the log with their 4-point students this year may do so. I've actually started one with my 11th grade students, who are certainly not obligated to do a log, and I have to say that so far it's been going fabulously well. The students really relate to the literature and I feel they're gaining a lot from it. So when I first read that letter, I was scared stiff that I would have to stop midway - but was reassured that anyone who would like to go ahead with the log is free to do so. All the best, Rivka Bari wrote: To me, the letter from the Irgun proclaimed ignorance, not victory. It is painfully clear that it was written by someone without even a partial understanding of what he was talking about and it presents English teachers in a very unprofessional light (we're the teachers who think that teaching thinking skills is unnecessary and a burden on us). I also think that the ministry directives are more unclear than ever -- which six HOTS? Can teachers who have already started a log with their 4-pointers in 10th grade continue and have their students do a log instead of module D? I have a whole list of points that are now unclear to me. ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
