Thank you, Ruthi, for posting this. How can English teachers respond in the classroom to this type of censorship? What are some poetic equivalents in English that we could read with our students (and discuss; allowing for criticism and reservations and varying opinions)? Off the top of my head I'm thinking of Sylvia Plath, Allen Ginsberg (Walt Whitman?), Adrienne Rich and Sharon Olds. But I'd love to hear what others might suggest.
