Greetings, all! I just came across a number of pages about Bloom's Taxonomy, which made me pause for a moment. Here's the most concise one: http://ww2.odu.edu/educ/roverbau/Bloom/blooms_taxonomy.htm Please note that on the 6-level scale, "solve" is only on level 3. "Compare," "Contrast," and "Differentiate" are only on level 4. Assuming that this Web page, and others like it, are reporting Bloom's Taxonomy correctly, how is it that the MOE calls them "Higher Oder Thinking Skills"? These skills, while obviously important, are not "Higher Order Thinking Skills." Instead, they should be called "Middle Oder Thinking Skills (MOTS)." Just think, we can now have a new set of standards and mandatory hishtalmuot on these standards, which cover: LOTS. MOTS, & HOTS I yield the floor to Barry Silverberg.
