Hi, Just wanted to write a few words on this week's conference. The organization was superb, and everything worked like clockwork. Susan Bedein didn't stop running for a minute, and managed to smile through it all. She really deserves a huge "Well Done and Kol HaKavod". The same goes for the team of young men, supperbly lead by Lior (Susan's son), who were incredibly helpful, friendly and a pleasure to have around! Attendance was brisk, and according to Marna's estimations, definitely up from last year. The people actually were interested in what was going on, and the scheduling left time for them to browse - a big improvement, and much appreciated by the exhibitors. On the other hand (there is always another hand...) - from the exhibitors' point of view, the conference venue was appalling and should never have been chosen in the first place. The hallways were much too narrow for an easy, and SAFE flow of the hundreds of people that were there, ventilation in the exhibition space was non-existent, and at times, especially in the central corridor, it came close to being suffocating. The exhibitors' tables were incredibly bad - much too narrow (I had to remove one of my stands because the tables were too small for it to sit on them safely) and most had rough, splintery edges. There was not enough space to stand behind the tables, and when this was solved by pushing the tables out, it of course reduced the size of the hallways for the people to walk through. This is not just my opinion, all the exhibitors I spoke with voiced similar complaints, and it was generally felt that the exhibition charges were totally out of proportion to what we received for them. The school is to be congratulated for having made a real effort to improve its appearance from the condition it was in at the time of the walk-through (At that time, there were pipes and cables and wires hanging from the ceiling in the corridor and it was badly in need of a paint job). All in all, a successful, but difficult exhibition. I look forward to next year with anticipation and trepidation . All the best, Richard Richard Steinitz - LPA Group P.O.
