What is Happening in the World
We presently read the newspapers with much attention as they hold
information of how those who are fighting want this to be their last war, so
that the strong won't bring about an injustice, so that there will be no
dead, disabled, widows, orphans, starvation, disease and tears.
The war should be terminated so that there will be no more reasons for a new
conflict, not in another year, not in ten years time nor in a hundred ? so
that an Italian, a Frenchman, Englishman, Pole, German, Russian, Jew, Turk,
Serb, a yellow Jap and a black African ? can all work together, each in his
own country, each in accordance to his will and for the good of all, and in
order to help one another they will exchange what the one has in surplus to
what another lacks ? for example tea for sugar, sugar for coal, coal for
fish.
Difficult to sort it all out.
We have still not found a way that in a family a brother will live in peace
with his sister, how to solve skirmishes and complaints in schools ? and we
want to find a way to bring about peace amongst nations, armed forces and
raging governments.
Maybe we will not succeed ? and then we will tell you, children: - grow,
think, try ? maybe with your help the festive day will arrive.
So we were told by our fathers when we were children, thus spoke our
grandparents to our fathers when they were children: - grow so this day will
arrive ?
