This week saw the opening of the 60 hour* Mentoring Induction Course
for teachers of English. In order to accommodate teachers who are
already - or are planning to be - mentors of 'stajerim' but who
live in outlying areas there is a special program
available. Therefore, we welcome qualified teachers ( with five or
more years' experience) from around the country to join us in this
professional development course (recognized by Ofek Hadash) . The
regular Course day is Tuesday, 16.30 - 19.45, at the David Yellin
Academic College of Education, Beit Hakerem Jerusalem. Additional online
and
face to face meetings will be organized in a cooperative manner.
Among the special issues to be addressed are Coaching, Classroom and
School Climate, Interpersonal Communication skills, Action Research
and Active Listening,
Signing-up possibilities end Dec 28th.

*A companion program of a further 60 hours will be taken early next
year (starting officially Sept . 1, 2011) , Thus, the requirements of the
120 hour course (required for mentors in practice) for a certificate will be
fulfilled .

If you'd like to sign up for the course, please call the college (
call Haim): 02-6587528 and leave your details. The course is
officially known as Mentoring and Mentorship - "Honchei stage lemorim
l'anglit," and a generous grant is available to eligible entrants.
