It seems to me that the aim of yesterday's Module G exam was to increase
the pass rate, not to check the true 5-point level of comprehension. Where
were the questions that needed analysis of the text and accurate wording?
Has this level also been reduced to 'copy and paste' or 'choose the correct
answer' questions?
29 out of 60 points (almost 50%) were for the 4 multiple choice questions,
which were not even changed on the additional sheet provided in light of
the leak. Even with the regular two clearly identified versions, it is no
problem for students to 'help' friends with answers to this type of
question.
It is little wonder that Israeli institutions of higher learning find that
most 5-point students have to take additional courses to meet the level
required to access and understand information in English at tertiary level.
