Can you answer these five questions?
1. Where do we first meet the term "Rosh Hashannah Ha'ilanot"?

2. What is the date of the new Year for trees?

3. Is the date according to the school of Hillel or the school of Shamai?

4. Does this festival refer to all trees or a particular type of tree?

5. In the sixteenth century this festival was firmly established as a day
for eating fruits. Who is associated with this custom?

You can send me your answers - my email is below. I will publish my answers
in a few days.
In the meantime plan and execute lessons about the new year for trees.

Need help and/or new ideas? See Chapter 3 of my book *The Cycle of the
Jewish Year: A Feast of Activities*

The site can also be accessed through the ETNI site
(elementary teachers - holidays - cycle of the Jewish year)

Did you find something suitable? Let me know. Do you have other ideas?
Again let me know.

Feedback appreciated. bev@xxxxxxxxxxx

And don't forget to save our trees.

Bev
