Hi,
Thanks to Eti and Reuben for taking the iniative of sending a petition to Ran
Erez. It's time for us to state clearly and firmly what we DO want to achieve
from this strike (besides a decent wage).
I would like to add some very important points to the petition:
1) The utilization of the extra hours teachers will be in school needs to be
defined clearly. Otherwise, we will find ourselves in school 30 hours a week
and still preparing our lessons/correcting papers, etc. at home!
2) There should be a section devoted to the rights of TEACHERS! (e.g. pupils
will address teachers respecfully at all times, teachers' grades which are
clearly based on valid criteria will not be overruled or changed by the school
administration, parents will conference with teachers only during school hours,
etc. etc.) At present, only pupils' rights are defined.
