[etni] Pre reading idea for the poem "Grandmother"

I wanted to recommend a marvelous poem which used as an introduction to the
poem "Grandmother" by S.Shirazie. I teach a wonderful all boys 12th grade
class in the Yeshiva Tichonit. For the pre reading task, after speaking
about relationships between themselves and their grandparents, I
distributed copies of the poem "An Old Lady's Poem" and I read it to
them. I find that poem exceedingly moving and it's hard for me not to shed
a tear or too while reading. The students were also moved by the poem and
it was a great way to get into our literary piece for our log. I've seen a
copy of the poem entitled "A Grumpy Old Man" but I stuck to the original
version. There is a U-tube version and for you lucky teachers with
smartboard and internet access, I highly recommend using it. I've
downloaded the poem here for anyone interested.
