Hi to all- July 12, 2010

A friend of mine has asked me if a curriculum exists for teaching Hebrew
as a Foreign Language, much like the one that we have for teaching English
here in Israel.

She teaches in a Jewish school in the United States and , rather than
'reinventing the wheel' and writing her own curiculum , she is wondering if
something
exists in this area.

She grew up here and learned Hebrew in schoolâ??and is NOT looking for what
Lashon teachers here teach to elementary schoolers (which is Language Arts for
kids whose mother tongue is Hebrew). She is also not looking for an Ulpan
approach.
Rather, she is looking for an academic curriculum which is designed for kids
learning
Hebrew whose native language is English.

(I realize that I may some of you at ETAI during the next few days, and/or
that you might not see this until later in the week. Even so, I'm interested
in hearing from you whenever you get to it.)

Any ideas? Or people to refer me to?

Best wishes for a happy, healthy vacation to all!

Margie
