Dear All, I hope this finds you well. I am an MA TESOL student in the first year of a two year graduate program at the University of Illinois. My husband and I plan to make aliyah in two and a half years when we are both finished with our respective degree programs. I am writing because I would love to get some more information on how I can best prepare myself to enter the Israeli EFL job market and align my professional goals with the reality on the ground. I have spent time living in Israel in the past and am aware that many of the job openings are within the secondary school system with the goal of preparing middle and high school student for the Bagrut. My personal interest is in working in higher education or community based centers, however, and I am unable to find any good information on teaching at the university level or in adult populations. I am particularly interested in university preparation for Ethiopian immigrants and other immigrant populations who want to attend university have not had the opportunity to prepare for the English Bagrut within the Israeli school system. Additionally, as part of my coursework I am working on a curriculum design project with that particular scenario and potential student population in mind. If any of you have any resources, information, or contacts that I may reach out to to learn more about university level and/or adult EFL learner populations, both for my theoretical project and for very realistic future plans, I would be very appreciative. In terms of future plans, my husband and I are looking to live either in the Negev or the Galil rather than the Mercaz. Thank you so much in advance for your insights! All the best, Ariel Pollock ************************************** ** Join ETNI on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/31737970668/ ** ETNI Blog and Poll http://ask-etni.blogspot.co.il/ ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to ETNI List - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ***************************************
