The English staff insisted we be released from Toranut Tefilla this year.
First and foremost, it means the first lesson is much shorter because you
don't get the full time while waiting for everyone to finish and move from
room to room.
If you have two hours of "Toranut Tefilla" in junior high - it counts as an
hour of Shehiya. BUT (get ready for this): Last year we had to be there two
mornings a week - once for a jh class and once for a high school class. In
that case, we got paid absolutely nothing because it didn't count as two
hours of in Ofek.
