Following is a translation of a letter that I sent to Chedvah Tzedef of Irgun
Hamorim:
As you recall, I had asked you what I should do concerning the preparation of
projects in lieu of the sanctions. A while ago, Ran Erez published a letter
advising us to refrain from assisting our students in the preparation of their
projects. The examiner for our students told me that any student without a
project will get a zero. Following Nurit Valenci's advice, I reported this
threat to Dr. Shoshani, CEO of the MOE. During our last conversation, you told
me that you would raise the issue with Ran Erez in a meeting that you had
scheduled for that day.
As matters stand at present, I have yet to receive a response from Dr.
Shoshani. I have not received any guidance from the union on to how to proceed.
If our students do not prepare projects, who will protect them? What do I do
when I see the examiner giving zeros to my students? If this is forbidden, why
doesn't Ran Erez tell me what I am supposed to do?
I published the first letter that I sent you (which has apparently disappeared
from the Irgun's forum) on ETNI. I only got a few responses. Apparently, the
great majority of the teachers are ignoring the sanctions. Others are employing
various clever methods for dodging the sanctions. Without sufficient
encouragement and support, I guess I have no other recourse than to do the same.
By the way, my inspector read my first letter, and advised me to act according
to the requirements of the ministry. If I had gotten sufficient support from
you, I would have been able to respond as follows: "As a member of a strong and
supportive union, I intend to follow its instructions."
I concluded my letter to the union by informing them that I am publishing a
translation of the letter I sent her on ETNI.
