To whom ever may be interested,
This year My principal asked me to build an excellence program for our
strong to native level speaker students.
After spending hours searching the internet for Harry Potter materials(a
subject my students requested) that were simplified enough to use with my
"advanced" elementary school students, I finally conceded that this it was
mission impossible and decided to build my own H*arry Potter* site for the
students where the language was as simple as possible and everything was
task orientated.
After a few days of work I think I have managed to create a site suited to
the needs of my students, complete with attached work pages and tasks.
So far the project is a hit with my students and so I thought that it might
be nice to share it with any teacher interested in using Harry Potter to
teach their advanced students. In some of my lessons (when the material is
to easy for the advanced students), I send them to the computers at the
back of the classroom and they work independently. No more boredom - no
more disturbance. (*Now I just have to figure out what to do with my
non-readers during regular lessons and I will be set.*)
