Subject: If you really know the Module F well... BELOW ARE THE QUESTIONS MY CLASS SENT TO ME TO ANSWER. MY ANSWERS ARE IN BLUE. WOULD THEY BE ACCEPTED BY THE BAGRUT MARKERS???? Subject: If you really know the Module F well... Hey Phyllis, we would like to say thank you for teaching us all the literature! Now, we have a couple of questions for you; they are very, very, hard. Q. Why did Mr. Kelada stay to clean the mess The Grapevine's staff left after the party? Answer: Mr. Kelada stayed to clean the mess The Grapevine's staff left after the party because being British, he wanted everything to be neat and tidy and American kids are not noted for their tidiness. He loved to organize everything, so most likely he got Mr. Ross and his wife, as well as the principal, to help clean up. In addition, Mr. Kelada never missed a meal and probably finished off all the uneaten food; British people are very thrifty. Thinking skill: inferring Another answer: Mr. Kelada stayed to clean the mess The Grapevine's staff left after the party because he wanted to snoop around the office [Mr. Know-All] in order to learn more about what the Grapevine staff was going to write in their future edition. Then, if/when the next edition of the Grapevine came out, he would be able to give his opinion, based on what he had read......and again be a know-all. Q. Give two reasons why David wrinkled his nose when he played chess against Mrs. Ramsay. Choose any two: Answer: 1. David had a sensitive nose and didn't like the smell of Mrs. Ramsey's cheap perfume. 2. David had caught a bad cold on the Alliance 11th. grade school trip and was about to sneeze [again] but he didn't have a handkerchief or a kleenex. [Phyllis always provided the latter in class.] 3. David saw Mrs. Ramsey make a stupid move, one that could well cost her the game and then he would win the $100 bet against her. However, he realized she was just a woman, and it was a know fact that women don't know how to play chess well, so he had to use invisible strength to stop her from moving that piece and he did so by concentrating hard and wrinkling his nose. Q. Explain why Vincent and Winston wrote 'ENEMY' on the narrator's locker in red block letters? Answer: Vincent and Winston were still very young boys so they had only learned to write block letters in school, not cursive writing yet. As they were of Chinese decent, they did not like the Japanese. They used RED because that was the color of good luck for the Chinese. They wrote on the narrator's locker because they were poor [remember theChristmas presents they got???] and they didn't have any paper to write on. ************************************** ** Join ETNI on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/31737970668/ ** ETNI Blog and Poll http://ask-etni.blogspot.co.il/ ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to ETNI List - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ***************************************
