Greetings fellow sufferers, er, ETNIERS, Having returned from a sojourn in England, helping my mum clear her house out (no mean feat as she had been living in it for 37 years and it was quite emotional as my ill-spent teenage years were wrapped up there) so that she could come on Aliyah, I missed the ETAI conference that took place at the beginning of the month. Before I left there were rumblings of dissent amongst the ETNI faithful mostly to do with the upcoming literature module. Apparently there was to have been a meeting with Her Inspectorship, Judy Steiner and one with the union to discuss the matter at the conference. What came of all this? Were there any fisticuffs that I missed or did all the English teachers humbly touch their forelocks in submission and give thanks to the Ministry for enabling us to put food on our children's plates without having to send them out to sell matches in the snow? Can someone please tell me what happened and where we Irgun members now stand with regard to the sanctions on taking the hishtalmut? Thanks. I hope you're all enjoying the summer hols.
