Dear Naomi and others, Regarding the use of Wikis - any erased materials can be found on the "history" section of that particular Wiki page, and any former version can be easily restored. However, there is a better solution (in my opinion) - I instruct my students to use the "comments" section rather than the original page. That way the original text isn't altered until all group members agree on the necessary change. The process is slightly more complicated but quite doable and (again, in my opinion) more educational. If you are referring to students erasing others' work on purpose, it usually helps to explain that any such actions are recorded (under "history"), including the name of the person who has erased the material, and you will deal with such actions severely. Simply show them an example and I'm sure they'll get it.
