Dear Leah and all,

An interesting point about teaching English songs about rain to Israelis -
In most English songs rain has a negative connotation, from "Rain, Rain, Go
Away" to "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head". Compare these to Israeli songs
like "Tif Taf", "Geshem Bo" and "Red Kfar Geshem". It's a good opportunity
to discuss cultural differences, in this case obviously related to climate
and agriculture. One exception is "Singin' in the Rain" (already recomended)
which has simple lyrics and a catchy melody. I also think they're past "It's
raining, it's pouring" which doesn't really say much anyway.

Some other suggestions - "It's Raining Again" (Supertramp), "Don't Rain on
My Parade" - not really about rain, but the Glee Cast has done a remake so
it may be familiar, "The Rainbow Connection".
